About Caspenda
Financial calculators should be instant, honest and shareable. That's the whole idea.
Most investing calculators make you sign up, hide the result behind a button click, or bury the assumptions in fine print. Caspenda is the opposite: open the page, see the number, and know exactly where it came from.
Your numbers stay yours.
No account. No tracking. No data collection. Every calculation runs locally in your browser — the inputs you type never leave your device.
What Caspenda is
Caspenda is a free educational website providing simple financial calculators and investing tools — compound interest, dollar-cost averaging, savings goals, retirement, investment return, loan payments and more. Everything runs in your browser: no sign-up, no login, no data collection, and every formula is published for anyone to check.
What Caspenda is not
Caspenda is not a brokerage, an advisory service or a news outlet. It does not provide personalized financial advice, investment recommendations or brokerage services, and we don't sell financial products. Results are hypothetical and for educational purposes only — they are not a guarantee of future returns.
Why "Caspenda"?
Caspenda is a coined word — built from the sound of "compound" and "pending": money that waits, and while it waits, grows. We made the name up on purpose. A name with no history lets us give it one: that time, not timing, is the most powerful thing you invest.
The math of wealth
Before you use a calculator, it helps to understand what it's really showing you. Here is the short version of how wealth grows:
- Compounding is the engine. Your returns start earning returns of their own. Small amounts, given enough time, grow into large amounts — and the curve isn't a straight line, it accelerates.
- Time beats timing. The single most powerful thing you can invest is time. Starting earlier with less money almost always beats starting later with more.
- Consistency is what you control. You can't control the market — but you can control how much you put in and how often. A steady, automated monthly contribution is the most reliable lever you have.
- The last years are the biggest. Most of your growth happens near the end of the curve. That's not a bug, it's how compounding works — and why the early years can feel slow.
Our calculators exist to show you this math with your own numbers: how much of the result is your money, how much is growth, and how it stacks up year by year.
Our principles
- Transparent. Every calculation explains its assumptions. If you can't see the math, you shouldn't trust the result — see our Methodology.
- Private. Calculations run locally in your browser. Your numbers never leave your device.
- Independent. No brokerage account is required. No sign-up, no login, no forms.
- Educational. Results are hypothetical and should not be treated as financial advice.
Who's behind Caspenda
Caspenda is built by a long-term index investor with nine years of experience building web tools. It started as a side project — a set of transparent calculators that explain exactly where an investment result comes from — and grew into the free tool network you see today.
The site stays deliberately independent: no sign-ups, no tracking, no brokerage affiliations, no products to sell, and nothing to gain from inflating a projection. If a tool or guide points you somewhere, it's because the math or the data genuinely warrants it.
What's next
We started with compound interest, dollar-cost averaging and DCA vs lump sum, and have grown into thirteen tools — savings goals, retirement, net worth, portfolio growth, loan payments, inflation, ETF fee comparison, FIRE planning and more. We keep adding calculators and plain-English guides based on what people actually use, always with the same rules: open, transparent and private.
